Lynn Haven to offer sandbags for residents

Lynn Haven, Florida – Lynn Haven city officials are taking a pro-active step this week in anticipation of heavy rain in the city. The forecast is calling for heavy rain form a possible tropical system in the NE Gulf of Mexico, which could cause flooding in low lying areas.

This morning City Officials released the following information for Lynn Haven residents:

“There is a threat of heavy rainfall this weekend with a possible tropical storm forming. With the rainfall projected there is a chance low laying areas could flood. We encourage you to be proactive in preparing your residence.

We will have sandbags and sand available 7/8/19 starting at 12 pm at the:

Lynn Haven Sports Complex
2201 Recreation Drive

There will be a limit of 10 bags per household given out. Please bring an ID or your water bill to verify your residency.  All residents will need to fill their own bags, we will not have staff available to assist you, as they will be out preparing the City for this event.

We will continue to have bags and sand available Tuesday (7/9) through Thursday (7/11) as supplies last.

You are permitted to fill your own bags if you have them.”
