Tropical Development in the Gulf
Monitoring tropical development in the Gulf this week, possible impacts for Panama City
Panama City News
The City of Panama City is monitoring an area of likely tropical development near the western Caribbean Sea and Central America. There is a high chance of storm development within the next 7 days as it moves north/northeast into the Gulf of Mexico.
They will learn more about the potential track, intensity and impacts of the storm as it develops early this week. The timeline of potential impacts is as early as Thursday.
In the meantime, they are preparing teams to act quickly and efficiently should the forecast call for significant impacts to the city of Panama City. They urge the citizens to be prepared for tropical impacts. Take time to refresh your safety kits and food supplies. Review your safety plans, too.
Florida’s Division of Emergency Management offers many resources for preparing for tropical weather including a disaster supply kit checklist, maps, family and pet safety plans and more.
