Traffic Updates: Bay & Jackson
FDOT Traffic Advisory for Bay and Jackson Counties
Chipley, FL – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Bay County:
· U.S. 98 west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, through Friday, May 31.
· U.S. 98 Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street – Drivers will encounter alternating lane closures on U.S. 98, between Pier Park Drive and Gulf Boulevard, Monday, May 13 through Thursday, May 16 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction crews will be placing drainage beneath the existing roadway.
- State Road (S.R.) 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) – Star Avenue drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures south of Tram Road Monday, May 13 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for asphalt paving activities. Flaggers and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- Hutchison Boulevard from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures Tuesday, May 14 through Thursday, May 16 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. between Richard Jackson Boulevard and Clara Avenue as crews perform drainage construction activities. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) Resurfacing from Walton County Line to Heather Drive – Drivers will encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17 for asphalt paving activities.
- S.R. 390 Widening from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road – S.R. 390 drivers will be shifted to the newly constructed travel lanes between 23rd Street and Island View Drive, Wednesday, May 15 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Shifting traffic will allow the construction team to complete drainage efforts beneath the roadway.
Jackson County:
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from Chipola River Bridge to east of S.R. 71 South – Motorists will encounter intermittent westbound lane closures Monday, May 13 through Friday, May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
