Health Advisories Issued for Popular Beach Destinations
Advisories Issued for Three Healthy Beaches Sampling Locations.
Bay County, FL — The Florida Department of Health in Bay County (DOH-Bay) has issued water quality advisories for the following locations: Laguna Beach (SP 2), 19440 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, FL 32413, Carl Gray Park (SP 9), Collegiate Drive, Panama City, FL 32401, and Dupont Bridge (SP 11), 6601 Oakshore Drive, Parker, FL 32404
Tests completed on Monday, March 4, 2024, indicate that the water quality at the above locations do not meet the recreational water quality criteria for Enterococcus bacteria recommended by the Florida Department of Health.
DOH-Bay advises against any water-related activities at these locations due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers. Bacteriological sampling conducted during regular water quality monitoring showed that the level of bacteria exceeds the level established by state guidelines.
This advisories will continue until bacteria levels are below the accepted health level. New test results should be available for the above locations on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.
