BAYWAY TO PROVIDE FREE RIDES ON ELECTION DAY
Bay County Public Transit is offering free rides on November 8th to all Bay County
residents to encourage voter participation
[Panama City, Fla.] – Bayway, Bay County Public Transit System, has recently announced that they will offer free rides on all routes for residents to get out and vote on election day, November 8th. While midterm elections typically receive less attention and voter participation than general elections, they are just as important and cause significant changes at local, state, and national levels. The Bayway buses will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Bay County Public Transit System representatives encourage current and new riders to hop on board to take advantage of the free rides and vote.
“Bayway hopes to remove the obstacle of getting to polling locations and make participation in this year’s election accessible for everyone. No one should have to face challenges to exercise their right to vote,” said Lamar Hobbs, Transit Programs Administrator of the Bay County Board of County Commissioners. “We’re excited to offer Bayway’s services to all community members free of charge on Tuesday, November 8th. We hope this will encourage residents to take advantage of local public transportation and cast their ballot.”
Bay County has 27 polling locations open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on November 8th. Voters are asked to visit their designated polling site, which can be found at www.BayVotesFL.gov/ElectionInfo/ElectionHistory-Sample-Ballots or by calling 850-784-6100. More information on what materials are required can be found at www.BayVotesFL.gov/Voter-Info/Where-Do-I-Vote-What-Do-I-Need.
