Bay and Jackson Traffic Advisory
CHIPLEY, FL – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Bay County:
· U.S. 98 Construction west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, through the end of December. In addition, Tyndall AFB will reopen the Airey Avenue gate Thursday evening, Nov. 7, then close the Tyndall Drive gate Friday morning, Nov. 8. The Tyndall Drive gate will remain closed through mid-January. During this time, personnel may use either the commercial gate, the gate at Sabre Drive, or the Airey Avenue gate to enter/exit the installation. Entry to the flightline side of the base will be limited to the new Louisiana Avenue underpass.
- U.S. 98 Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street – North Gulf Boulevard will be closed Sunday through Wednesday, Nov. 6 as crews place a drainage pipe beneath the roadway. The closure will not impact the U.S. 98 travel lanes, or the portion of Gulf Boulevard that is south of the U.S. 98 intersection. U.S. 98 drivers needing access to North Gulf Boulevard should detour north on Nautilus Street, then west on the fire station road. In addition, U.S. 98 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures between Mandy Lane and Pier Park Drive, Wednesday, Nov. 6 and Thursday, Nov. 7 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Hutchison Boulevard from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers may encounter intermittent daytime and nighttime lane closures through Friday, Nov. 8 as crews perform sidewalk, drainage, and resurfacing activities throughout the project area. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- State Road (S.R.) 390 Bridge over Mill Bayou – S.R. 390 drivers may experience brief travel delays near the Mill Bayou Bridge through Saturday, Nov. 9. Crews will be delivering materials needed for the reconstruction of the bridge.

The lane closure is necessary for crews to perform drainage structure installation and to allow oversized equipment to access the S.R. 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) construction site. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
Jackson County:
· U.S. 90 (S.R. 10) from west of U.S. 231 (U.S. 75) to west of CSX Overpass – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures through Sunday, Nov. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
