Police Chief Recognized and Honored by PCB City Council
PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL – The Panama City Beach (PCB) City Council has awarded Police Chief Eusebio Talamentez the City’s esteemed “Chief’s Award” in recognition of his leadership following the police department’s recent accreditation. The “Chief’s Award” is presented to individuals whose actions bring distinction to both the department and the law enforcement profession.
During last night’s city council meeting, councilmembers surprised Chief Talamentez with the award. Vice-Mayor, Michael Jarman presented the award saying that Chief Talamentez’s leadership and perseverance were key factors in the department’s accreditation success.
“Accreditation brings several benefits to both the city and the police department. It brings public trust by promoting transparency and accountability. It improves operational efficiency by improving practices and reduces liability risks by demonstrating compliance with recognized standards,” said Jarman.
Chief Talamentez received a standing ovation from attendees and expressed his gratitude for the support he received throughout the process. He extended special thanks to Lieutenant Chris Boyer and Sergeant Derick Popplereiter, who played pivotal roles in the department’s efforts to meet the accreditation standards. The police department received the accreditation from the Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) on October 3, 2024.
A short ceremony was held at City Hall to celebrate the entire department’s hard work achieving this important milestone.
