FDOT Traffic Advisory: Bay & Jackson Counties

CHIPLEY, FL – Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.

Bay County:

· U.S. 98 west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, through the end of September.

· U.S. 98 Widening from east of Nautilus Street to east of Richard Jackson Boulevard – Alf Coleman Road northbound drivers will encounter a lane closure at the U.S. 98 intersection, Monday, Aug. 12 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction crews will be conducting traffic signal maintenance.

Hutchison Boulevard from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 15 from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. between Richard Jackson Boulevard and Clara Avenue as crews perform drainage construction activities. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) Resurfacing from Walton County Line to Heather Drive – Drivers will encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 15 for asphalt paving activities.
County Road 389 (East 12th Street) Shoulder Operations from State Road (S.R.) 390 to Pennsylvania Avenue – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for construction activities.

Jackson County:

· U.S. 90 Resurfacing from Chipola River Bridge to east of S.R. 71 South – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.

· S.R. 71 Resurfacing from U.S. 90 to Basswood Road – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.

· U.S. 90 (S.R. 10) from west of U.S. 231 (U.S. 75) to west of CSX Overpass – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures Sunday, Aug. 11 through Thursday, Aug. 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.

· U.S. 231 Resurfacing from North of Brock Road to South of Dilmore Road – Motorists will encounter intermittent daytime lane closures Monday, Aug. 12 through Friday, Aug. 16 for paving operations.

All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
