Bay & Jackson Traffic Updates
Bay County:
· U.S. 98 west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, through the end of August.
- State Road (S.R.) 390 Widening from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road – S.R. 390 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures south of 23rd Street, Monday, Aug. 5 and Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be striping the roadway. Law enforcement will be on-site to safely direct drivers through the work zone.
· U.S. 98 Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street – U.S. 98 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures between Hills Road and Nautilus Street through Tuesday, Aug. 6 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be performing drainage work, installing low profile barrier wall, and striping the roadway.
- Hutchison Boulevard from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures through Thursday, Aug. 8 from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. between Richard Jackson Boulevard and Clara Avenue as crews perform drainage construction activities. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) Resurfacing from Walton County Line to Heather Drive – Drivers will encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures through Thursday, Aug. 8 for asphalt paving activities.
- Gulf Coast Parkway Construction from U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) to Star Avenue – Drivers may encounter a lane closure on westbound U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) from 11th Street to Tram Road through Saturday, Aug. 10 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. The lane closure is necessary to allow oversized equipment to access the S.R. 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) construction site. Traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
- County Road 389 (East 12th Street) Shoulder Operations from S.R. 390 to Pennsylvania Avenue – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures through Friday, Aug. 9 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for construction activities.
Jackson County:
· U.S. 90 Resurfacing from Chipola River Bridge to east of S.R. 71 South – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures through Thursday, Aug. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
· U.S. 90 (S.R. 10) from west of U.S. 231 (U.S. 75) to west of CSX Overpass – Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures through Thursday, Aug. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
