Traffic Alerts: Bay and Jackson

FDOT Traffic Advisory for Bay and Jackson Counties

CHIPLEY, FL– Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.

Bay County:

·         U.S. 98 west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue U.S. 98 drivers may encounter intermittent lane closures, between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, through the end of August.

  • U.S. 98 Widening from Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street – Drivers will encounter alternating lane closures between Gulf Boulevard and Nautilus Street through Thursday, June 27 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be installing temporary asphalt and drainage.
  • U.S. 98 Widening from east of Nautilus Street to east of Richard Jackson Boulevard U.S. 98 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures, between Clara Avenue and Nautilus Street, Tuesday, June 25 through Thursday, June 27 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Construction crews will be striping pavement.
  • State Road (S.R.) 390 Bridge over Mill Bayou – S.R. 390 drivers will encounter alternating lane closures, between Brook Forest Drive and Cato Road through Friday, June 28 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Construction crews will be relocating utilities.
  • S.R. 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) – U.S. 98 (Tyndall Parkway) drivers will encounter a lane closure from East 11th Street to Tram Road through Saturday, June 29 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for turn lane construction. Traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area. 
  • Hutchison Boulevard from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures through Thursday, June 27 from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. between Richard Jackson Boulevard and Clara Avenue as crews perform drainage construction activities. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
  • U.S. 98 (Panama City Beach Parkway) Resurfacing from Walton County Line to Heather Drive – Drivers will encounter nighttime intermittent lane closures through Thursday, June 27 for asphalt paving activities.

Jackson County:

  • U.S. 90 Resurfacing from Chipola River Bridge to east of S.R. 71 South  Motorists will encounter intermittent lane closures through Friday, June 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
  • U.S. 90 (S.R. 10) from west of U.S. 231 (U.S. 75) to west of CSX Overpass – Drivers may encounter a lane shift as crews will replace concrete joint material near the beginning of the project and pour concrete ditch pavement just east of Cottondale Elementary School. There are no scheduled lane closures.

All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
