The three-day event will feature sessions including a hands-on ultrasound guided regional anesthesia workshop with live models, a review of opioid-free anesthesia research, presentations on new strategies for delivering opioid-free anesthesia, round-table discussions and more. Speakers will include Dr. Lynn Martin; Doug Rutkowski, CRNA; Rhea Temmermand, CRNA; Roy Film, DPT; Jonathan Kline, CRNA; and others.
Popular forums such as “Physical Therapy for Pain Management,” “Marijuana and Anesthesia,” and “History of Opioids” will provide the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussion on hot topics in the discipline.
Attendees will learn the latest techniques in administering opioid-free anesthesia from pioneers in the field who will highlight innovative research and answer questions. Additionally, attendees will be able to engage with exhibitors who support initiatives of SOFA.
“We are proud to host SOFA on our campus and be able to showcase FSU PC and Panama City to visitors from across the country,” said Stacey VanDyke, DNP, CRNA, Program Director for the FSU Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program. “This is an excellent opportunity for our students to network with industry leaders and learn innovative anesthesia techniques from leading experts.”
With more than 2,000 members, SOFA is an international organization dedicated to promoting opioid-free anesthesia. A safer option for anesthesia administration, this practice maximizes a patient’s respiratory ability and aggressively treats their pain, while eliminating the unwanted side effects of opioids.
The Congress is open to students and practitioners including Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) and anesthesiologists. Registration is still open and can be done on-site.
