Mill Bayou Bridge Replacement Begins
Chipley, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation has begun work to replace the Mill Bayou Bridge on State Road (S.R.) 390 between S.R. 389 and U.S. 231 in Lynn Haven. The $10 million project is currently anticipated for completion in late 2025.
To keep traffic flowing during construction, crews will first construct a temporary steel bridge immediately south of the existing structure. Traffic will be shifted to the temporary bridge while the construction team demolishes and reconstructs the current Mill Bayou Bridge. During construction, the speed limit in the work zone will be temporarily lowered to 30 mph. Single-lane closures may be scheduled as crews perform necessary inspections.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
