FDOT Traffic Advisory: Bay & Jackson Counties
Chipley, FL– Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Bay and Jackson counties as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.
Bay County:
· U.S. 98 west of Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue to east of Louisiana Avenue – U.S. 98 drivers may encounter day and nighttime intermittent lane closures, between Tyndall Drive-Airey Avenue and Louisiana Avenue, through Tuesday, April 30.
· State Road (S.R.) 370 (Gulf Coast Parkway) – North Star Avenue drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures south of Tram Road Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for roadway widening activities. Flaggers and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
· S.R. 392A (Hutchison Boulevard) from U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) to U.S. 98A (Front Beach Road) – Drivers will encounter intermittent lane closures Monday, April 15 through Saturday, April 20 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. between Richard Jackson Boulevard and Clara Avenue as crews perform drainage construction activities. Advanced warning signs and traffic control devices will assist in directing motorists through the work area.
· U.S. 98 Widening, Mandy Lane to east of Nautilus Street – Drivers will encounter alternating nighttime lane closures on U.S. 98, between Pier Park Drive and Gulf Boulevard, Sunday, April 14 through Thursday, April 18. Construction crews will be placing drainage structures beneath the roadway.
· S.R. 390 Widening from 23rd Street to Baldwin Road – S.R. 390 drivers will be shifted to the newly constructed travel lanes between Airport Road and Airport Drive, Tuesday, April 16 between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Shifting traffic will allow the construction team to remove and reconstruct this section of the current S.R. 390 travel lanes.
Jackson County:
- U.S. 90 Resurfacing from Chipola River Bridge to east of S.R. 71 South – Motorists will encounter intermittent westbound lane closures Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for construction activities.
All planned construction activities are weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to pay attention to the reduced speed limit when traveling through the construction area, to watch for construction equipment entering and leaving the roadway, and to use caution when driving through the work zone. Speeding fines double when workers are present.
