Millions to Lose Affordable Internet
The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is running out of money, putting internet access at risk for millions.
As you likely know, funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which provides eligible households with monthly discounts on high speed internet, is set to expire at the end of April.
The average cost of a high speed internet plan is $81 monthly or $975 annually. In a recent FCC survey of ACP recipients, 77% said that losing their ACP benefit or having to pay $30 more per month would make them consider changing plans or providers and potentially forego in-home internet access altogether.
If additional funding to the program is not approved, 1,685,581.00 households in your state will lose access to affordable, high speed internet. And, more than 21 million American households will lose access, too.

Why is this important?
The internet is crucial for everyday life – from work and school to healthcare and staying connected. Losing access would be a major blow for many families.
What can you do?
- Check your eligibility: See if you qualify for the ACP at https://www.affordableconnectivity.gov/.
- Explore your options: Search for alternative internet plan options in your area that will allow you to maintain access to the internet, even if funding is not renewed next month.
Don’t let the internet become a luxury. Fight for continued funding for the ACP!
