Alf Coleman Road Reconstruction 2024
Alf Coleman Road Reopens: A Safer, Elevated Journey Begins!
Panama City Beach, FL– After a five-month closure, Alf Coleman Road will reopen to all traffic February 29 at 10 a.m.
The road was closed to accommodate rehabilitation and reconstruction work addressing long-standing concerns about flood-risk while improving pedestrian safety with upgraded sidewalks and lighting.
Improvements include:
– Raising the road up to 18 inches at its highest point
– Cross-drain culvert reconstruction – Adding a continuous sidewalk on the west side of the road – Upgrading signage, roadway lighting, and pavement stripingThis $5.3 million project, part of the Front Beach Road Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), is expected to be completed mid-summer 2024. Although the road is open, drivers should anticipate intermittent temporary lane closures as work continues. We urge everyone to continue to exercise caution as this remains a construction zone.
