New Year, New Career? Hundreds of Positions Up for Grabs at the 37th Annual Bay County Job Fair
PANAMA CITY, FL – The most anticipated hiring event in Bay County is back for its 37th year of connecting area employers with local talent.
The 37th Annual Bay County Job Fair takes place Saturday, February 3, on the campus of Gulf Coast State College in the Student Union East. The free event is from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The first hour is reserved for priority entrance for veterans, military dependents, and transitioning active-duty service members. General admission begins at 10 a.m.
Job seekers will meet with hiring managers and recruiters representing more than 60 employers with hundreds of jobs in leisure and hospitality, retail, healthcare, government, education, construction, law enforcement, corrections, business and professional services, and more.
Positions include full-time, part-time, and seasonal opportunities as regional businesses prepare for Spring Break. Many employers are expected to conduct on-the-spot interviews at the event.
“The Bay County Job Fair is more than just a place to find a job – it’s a dynamic event for making meaningful connections that can ignite careers,” said Kim Bodine, Executive Director of CareerSource Gulf Coast. “In a competitive job market, face-to-face interaction and building rapport with potential employers are invaluable.”
Bodine points out that there is no better way to network in person with so many employers under one roof, in one day, than at the Bay County Job Fair. “By expanding the job search beyond online platforms, job seekers can find unexpected opportunities that might otherwise remain undiscovered,” said Bodine.
To increase the chances of successfully landing a job, job seekers should bring multiple copies of their resumes, research the employers and their opportunities in advance, dress for success, and rehearse a concise introduction.
CareerSource Gulf Coast career counselors are available to help with resume and job fair preparation for free at its main Job Center at 625 Hwy 231 in Panama City. Job seekers are invited to use the resource room with computers, internet access, and printers for making copies of resumes.
Walk-in career seekers are welcome to the Bay County Job Fair; however, pre-registration is encouraged to skip the line for expedited entrance to the event. Visit careersourceGC.com to pre-register and view a full list of participating employers.
The Bay County Job Fair is sponsored by iHeartMedia and hosted by CareerSource Gulf Coast, Gulf Coast State College, Haney Technical College, Bay County Chamber of Commerce, Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce, Tyndall Air Force Base Military & Family Readiness Center, and Naval Support Activity Panama City Fleet & Family Support Center.
