Lullwater Drive Closure

Lullwater Drive to be temporarily closed next week for construction

Panama City Beach, FL– Lullwater Drive at Front Beach Road will be temporarily closed beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, December 11 and continue through 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 12. Work will occur within the Lullwater Drive right of way, from just north of Front Beach Road extending approximately 100 feet.

This closure is required to install a new 42-inch storm drain across Lullwater Drive. The extensive existing utilities within the Lullwater Drive right of way (City water, sewer and reclaimed water, and telephone and gas) makes it impossible for the contractor to use a trench shield, and therefore requires a larger excavation area to safely install the new storm drain. The contractor will also need to place supports for the existing utilities across the roadway, therefore, the closure is necessary to maintain safety for the traveling public.Front Beach Road will remain open to traffic at all times. All local roadways will remain open to traffic including Lisbon Avenue, Junipero Avenue, Carmen Street and El Centro Boulevard. Local traffic will be permitted between Lisbon Avenue and the work area, with access via Lullwater Drive from the north.
