
U.S. 231 Harrison Avenue Resurfacing Project Complete

CHIPLEY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation has completed a $3 million project to resurface U.S. 231 (Harrison Avenue) from U.S. 98B (6th Street) to U.S. 98 (15th Street) in Bay County. The project began in November 2022 with a focus on increasing safety.
Additional improvements along the project included:
• Resurfacing existing travel lanes, auxiliary lanes, on street parking, and paved shoulders.
• Upgrading sidewalks and pedestrian features to meet current Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA) standards.
• Improving drainage at 14th Street.
• Adding new pedestrian signals at 11th Street and 12th Street.
