Walk to End Alzheimer’s Panama City
Event is Expected to Draw Hundreds from Across Emerald Coast
Panama City, FL– On Sunday, October 15, Panama City will come together for Walk to End Alzheimer’s – the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
On Walk day, participants honor those affected by Alzheimer’s with the poignant Promise Garden ceremony. During the ceremony, participants will carry flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease.
- Purple: I have Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
- Yellow: I care for someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
- Orange: I have lost someone to Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
- Blue: I support the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementias.

After the ceremony, participants will walk a 2-mile course through the campus of Florida State University Panama City. The walk is a great way to show your support for those affected by Alzheimer’s and to raise funds for important research and support programs.

How to Get Involved
There are many ways to get involved in Walk to End Alzheimer’s Panama City:
- Register to walk: Registration is free, but donations are encouraged.
- Start a team: Get your friends, family, coworkers or neighbors together to form a team and walk together.
- Donate: Even if you can’t walk, you can still support the cause by making a donation.
- Volunteer: Volunteers help with everything from setting up the event to handing out water to walkers.
