U.S. 90 at State Road (S.R.) 73 Intersection Improvements Begin
Chipley, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation will begin work in October to improve safety on U.S. 90 at the State Road (S.R.) 73 intersection in Jackson County.
Improvements along the quarter-mile project include:
- Realigning S.R. 73 to create an improved and safer intersection.
- Resurfacing U.S. 90 existing travel lanes and auxiliary lanes.
- Adding sidewalks along the north side of U.S. 90.
- Adding pedestrian features to improve safety and meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
- Improving drainage throughout the project.
No lane closures will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
Work is scheduled to be completed summer 2024. Construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
