Bayway Celebrates One-Year Rebrand Anniversary with “Bayway Day”
Panama City, Fla. – Bayway, Bay County Public Transit, is thrilled to announce the one-year
anniversary of its complete rebrand from Bay Town Trolley to Bayway. To celebrate this milestone,
Bayway encourages all members of the community to join them on Sept. 20 for “Bayway Day” – a day of
festivities and free rides.
Over the past year, Bayway has undergone a remarkable transformation aimed at enhancing the public
transit experience. Bayway has modernized its services, expanded its routes, and worked tirelessly to
become a more accessible and environmentally friendly transportation option. To commemorate this
journey, Bayway is offering free rides to all community members on Sept. 20.
Event Highlights:
Free Rides: On Sept. 20, all Bayway services will be free for the entire day. Bayway encourages everyone
in the community to take advantage of this opportunity to experience the convenience and quality of
Bayway’s public transit services.
Information Stations: Bayway representatives will be stationed at three key transfer locations
throughout the day, ready to provide information about services, routes, and the exciting changes that
have been made during the past year. The teams will be available to answer questions and ensure the
best transit experience. The three information stations will be set up from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the
following transfer locations:
1. Gulf Coast State College/Florida State University, 5230 US HWY 98, Panama City, FL (THIS IS THE MAIN LOCATION THAT BAYWAY STAFF WILL BE LOCATED)
2. Walmart, 725 N Tyndall Pkwy, Callaway, FL
3. Panama City Mall, 733 US HWY 231, Panama City, FL
Food Trucks: In the spirit of community and celebration, Bayway has arranged for food trucks to be
present at the three transfer stations, offering a delicious variety of culinary delights for its riders to
purchase. It’s not just about getting from place to place; it’s about enjoying the journey.
Onboard Music: What’s a celebration without music? A talented musician will perform onboard certain
Bayway buses, serenading riders during their journey and making commutes even more enjoyable.
“We are excited to mark this incredible milestone with our community,” said Lamar Hobbs, Bay County
Transit Programs administrator. “The support and trust of the community have been instrumental in our
growth and improvement. ‘Bayway Day’ is a special occasion for us to give back and share our
excitement about the future of public transit in Bay County.”
Representatives from Bayway encourage all community members, whether they are a regular Bayway
rider or new to Bayway services, to join us in celebrating “Bayway Day” on September 20th. It’s a day to
enjoy free rides, discover information about Bayway’s services, savor local cuisine, and groove to the
rhythm of live music.
