Gas Prices Hold Steady Ahead of Labor Day Weekend
Washington, DC– Gas prices remained unchanged ahead of Labor Day weekend, with the national average for a gallon of gas at $3.82. This is seven cents more than a month ago but two cents less than a year ago.
Demand for gas has increased slightly in recent weeks, but it remains below levels seen in previous years. This is likely due to a number of factors, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and rising inflation.
Hurricane Idalia could cause some regional gas price spikes, but these are expected to be short-lived. Overall, gas prices are expected to stay relatively stable through the Labor Day weekend.
