Open House to Discuss PCB Parkway Widening
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a hybrid public open house for the U.S. 98 widening project in Bay County on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.in the City Council Chambers of the Panama City Beach City Hall. This event will be held both virtually and in-person to provide information about the project and provide an opportunity for inquiries and comments.
The $110 million construction project includes widening a 4.8 miles of U.S. 98, from Mandy Lane to Richard Jackson Boulevard in Bay County. This project is aimed at increasing capacity on U.S. 98 from four to six lanes, improving traffic safety, and enhancing mobility. Additional improvements will include continuous sidewalks and bicycle lanes, signalization upgrades including new traffic signals at Mandy Lane and Gulf Boulevard, intersection improvements at the U.S. 98/Pier Park Drive intersection, and stormwater enhancements for better drainage. The project is estimated for completion in late 2027.
Citizens are strongly encouraged to attend the virtual open house and may register online at www.nwflroads.com/virtualmeetings. Those who are unable to participate virtually may attend the open house in-person at 17007 Panama City Beach Parkway, Panama City Beach.
The open house will be held without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability, or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact the FDOT Project Manager at least seven days prior to the meeting.
