Bridging Education: GCSC and Bayway Unite to Break Transportation Barriers
Panama City, FL– Gulf Coast is proud to announce a new collaboration with Bayway that aims to make education more accessible for its students. Starting August 21, 2023, GCSC students enrolled in six or more credit hours at Gulf Coast will have access to free transportation through Bayway as long as they have their student ID.
Bayway operates approximately from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., seven days a week, providing students and employees reliable transportation throughout Bay County.
“We couldn’t be more excited for this partnership to come together as it has,” said Glen McDonald, GCSC President. “It is our hope to ease commuting concerns for students and assure they can focus on their studies without worrying about getting to campus. We are proud to have Bayway in support of this initiative to safely get our students where they need to go.”
Both Gulf Coast and Bayway are excited about this joint effort, which highlights their commitment to supporting students’ academic journeys and promoting sustainable transportation options. Bayway is also looking to expand its routes to reach outlying areas in need of transportation.
“Bayway understands that transportation should never be a barrier keeping a person from succeeding,” said Lamar Hobbs, Bay County Transit Program Administrator. “Our partnership with Gulf Coast will help make their students’ lives easier as they focus on school and not the factors keeping them from getting there.”
