DeSantis Shakes Up Florida Ethics Commission with Bold New Appointments

Governor Ron DeSantis has announced new appointments and a reappointment to the Florida Commission on Ethics.

Joining the Commission are Freddie Figgers, President and CEO of Figgers Communication, Inc., and Ashley Lukis, Shareholder at GrayRobinson law firm. Figgers was recently appointed to the State Board of Administration’s Investment Advisory Council and named “Best in Business” by Inc. Magazine in 2020. Lukis was listed among the 2023 Florida Super Lawyers Rising Stars and earned degrees from Florida State University.

Also reappointed to the Commission is Dr. Edwin Moore, former President and CEO of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida. Moore previously served on the Governor’s Efficiency Task Force and CareerSource Florida.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. The new appointees bring valuable private sector and legal experience to the Commission on Ethics.
