The NWRLS Joins The Mix to Talk About Programming in May
Segment 1: Kat Kan from the NWRLS joins The Mix to talk about the new subscription service, Creativebug.
The Mix
Kat Kan from the Northwest Regional Library System joined The Mix to talk about the new expanded sponsored subscription access that will be here until September. Those who have a library card have access to use Creativebug which gives patrons access to high-quality, instructional video platform for over 1,000 art and craft classes for makers of all skillsets.
Creativebug video classes include:
- Embroidery and Sewing
- Knitting and Crochet
- Cake Decorating
- Acrylic, Watercolor, and Oil Painting
- Printmaking
- Ceramics
- Jewelry
- Quilting
- And so much more!
To create your Creativebug account online, visit the Northwest Regional Library System website at www.nwrls.com. Select the “Books & Research” tab and then the “Databases” page. Login with your library card number to be able to create a free account until the grant period is over in September 2022.
Segment 2: Free Comic Book Day - May 7th
The Mix
We talked about an exciting event coming up on May 7th. The NWRLS in partnership with Comic Emporium is hosting a Free Comic Book Day at the library. The event will be Saturday, May 7th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and will go until supplies last. Kat says that there will be grab bags with age-specific comics. You can find comics for children, teens, and adults and it is one bag per person. For more information, you can check out their Facebook page below!
Segment 3: Learn Japanese once a month at the Northwest Regional Library System
The Mix
Kat also told us about an exciting opportunity for library patrons. You can be a part of the Beginning Japanese Class that goes once a month. The next event will be Monday, May 2nd at 5:30 pm. The NWRLS hosts basic conversational Japanese with their own instructor! Registration is required. Please register at the Adult Services Information Desk or call 850-522-2107. This is a one-hour lesson. Program held in the Bay County Public Library Meeting Room.
