Dr. Sean Preston Joins The Mix to Talk About the Gulf Coast Guarantee

Dr. Sean Preston, the Executive Director of the GCSC Foundation, joined The Mix this morning to talk about the upcoming scholarship program, the Gulf Coast Guarantee. We talked about the criteria for the scholarship which is being a recent high school graduate from Bay, Gulf, and Franklin counties enrolled in 12 credit hours in the spring and fall semesters and maintaining a GPA of 2.0.

Dr. Preston also spoke about how the money is being raised, and the fact that the scholarship is the first dollar scholarship. This means that as soon as someone enrolls as a student the money will be awarded to those who qualify for the Gulf Coast Guarantee. 

Gulf Coast State College Foundation has supported Gulf Coast State College’s strategic initiatives by providing funding for student scholarships and programs. The mission of the Foundation is to remove financial barriers that obstruct student access to education.
