GCSC is Hosting “Super Saturday” Event for the Summer 2021 Registration

The Mix guest: Suzanna Remedies and Stephen Withall

The Mix

This morning in the studio, Suzanne Remedies and Stephen Withall joined The Mix to talk about Super Saturday happening on Saturday, April 10th from 9 am to 10 am on the Panama City Campus, and 10 am to 1 pm in the Gulf/Franklin campus.

Suzanne, the Director of School and Community Relations, noted that it was a way for students to get everything done and called it a one-stop-shopping. The idea is to get everything set up on Saturday so students can start classes on Monday. There will also be a prize basket that you can win called Be a friend…Bring a Friend!  If participants let the college know you referred someone to this event, they will be entered for the drawing to win a make your own pasta basket.

Stephen Withall, a chef and the Instructional Coordinator in the Culinary program at Gulf Coast State College, talked about the program and everything they will be doing on Super Saturday as well.  This includes the different ways to make pasta! Stephen says there will be a student with him as well so if anyone has questions they can get a student’s perspective.

Super Saturday

It’s an all-encompassing event for prospective students who are interested in enrolling for the Summer 2021 semester and for current students who need to register for classes. Gulf Coast is an open-access, open-enrollment institution, which means you only need a high school diploma or GED to enroll.

The $10 application fee is currently being waived for all new students at this event.

Focus on Programs

There will be a focus on program highlights this year, with Culinary being the highlight for GCSC’s main campus, and the Nursing/UAS Pilot Bootcamp programs being the focus for Gulf/Franklin.

Academic program advisors and specialists from Admissions, Advising, Enrollment Services, and Financial Aid will be available to provide one-on-one assistance and guide attendees through the enrollment and registration process.

Staff from Career Development, Veterans Services, TRiO, and Student Accessibility Resources will also be on-hand to answer questions, and students can get their student IDs and parking decals.

Covid-19 Safety

Due to Covid-19, masks are required to attend this event at both locations. For more information, please visit bit.ly/GCSCSuperSaturday or contact Suzanne Remedies at sremedies@gulfcoast.edu, or 850.913.3326.
