Going into the New Year, everyone has resolutions they want to achieve. Well, Dr. Dennis Dillenschneider talked to Caleb Jordan and Dana Erskine on The Mix about cybersecurity tips users may be interested in. All the way from changing your old passwords to clearing out data that has personal information on it. Dr. Dillenschneider helps users understand the why behind these actions and how it is important for your cyber safety.
Tips for Password Changes
- Don’t use personal information.
- Don’t re-use old passwords.
- Create new passwords for all of your devices in order to keep your information safe.
Clearing Out Old Data
- Remove old data in your computer, laptop, cell phone, iPads, etc.
- Clean up social media accounts.
- Make sure security updates are up to date.
- Remove old cookies from your web browser.
- Store digital receipts from the previous year in a digital hard drive.
