M 3.8 Earthquake Occurred Along Florida/Alabama Border after 10am
Panama City, Florida – The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) now reports that a 3.8 earthquake did occur along the Florida / Alabama line just to the NW of Mount Carmel Florida at 10:07 AM CDT. Over 30 reports had come in about an hour will people feeling the rumble as far away as Gulf Shores, Alabama.
The preliminary data indicates the 3.8 Earthquake occurred at 10 km (about 6.2 miles) below the surface at 10:07am CDT.
This is not the first Earthquake to happen in this area, as several small earthquakes have happened in the same area over the last few years according to the USGS.
