“Live Rescue” To Feature Panama City Beach Fire Rescue
Panama City Beach, Florida – Panama City Beach Fire Rescue is joining A&E’s live original documentary series, “Live Rescue,” premiering Friday, August 21. “Live Rescue,” produced by MGM’s Big Fish Entertainment, airs on A&E on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. CST.
Hosted by Matt Iseman (America Ninja Warrior), “Live Rescue” follows EMTs, paramedics and firefighters across the country as they bravely put their lives on the line responding to emergency rescue calls. Matt is joined by analysts Captain Garon Mosby of the St. Louis Fire Department and Registered Nurse Dan Flynn.
Interim Fire Chief Ray Morgan said it was an honor to be among seven fire rescue departments and one wildlife agency across the country, chosen for the show.
“It’s been exciting having them with us the last several weeks,” Morgan said. “This is a great opportunity for us to show the world our department — the men and women of the Panama City Beach Fire Rescue Beach Safety, who are the first to respond when needed. It also allows the public to see what we do, the services we provide. We are very pleased to be a part of ‘Live Rescue.’ We hope everyone will watch the show.”
This weekend’s segments will include both live shots and taped video from the previous weeks. After this weekend’s debut, three camera crews will be with the department — one with Station 30 on Nautilus Street, one with Station 32 on Hutchison Boulevard, and a third crew will work with the Beach Safety division on the sandy beach.
While most of the calls the crew has seen so far have been accidents and medical in nature, Gulf waters are expected to be churned up next week by what is currently Tropical Depression 13, so more beach rescues are possible.
Mayor Mark Sheldon said the City is pleased to have this national exposure.
“Panama City Beach has been given this great opportunity to showcase the men and women of the Fire and Rescue Department. This shows everyone the hard work they put in day in and day out. This is also a great opportunity to showcase our amazing city,” said Sheldon.
“Live Rescue” is produced by Big Fish Entertainment, an MGM Company, with Dan Cesareo, Lucilla D’Agostino, John Zito and Paul Gordon serving as Executive Producers. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Shelly Tatro, and Sean Gottlieb are Executive Producers for A&E.
