Bay County “Sandy Beaches” To Open on Limited Schedule
Panama City, Florida – During a regular schedule Board of Bay County Commissioners meeting, the board members spent over 45 minutes talking about the COVID-19 pandemic and voiced there concerns with the beaches, “White Sandy Beaches” being closed. Concerns from an economic standpoint were discussed, with a possibility loosening up to $300 million in tourism in Bay County. Bay County has control of 18.5 miles of Bay County shoreline.
The board voted 4-1 to open Bay County “White Sandy Beaches” beaches starting this Friday, with Keith Baker voting no.
Bay County Unincorporated Beaches to open Friday, April 24th, 2020:
- 6am to 9am CDT
- 5pm to 8pm CDT
The activities that can be done at the beach are those listed in the State Executive Order listed by the Governor in the stay at home order. No more that groups of 10 and follow social distancing.
