Calhoun County Announces 4th Positive Case of COVID-19

Blountstown, Florida – The Department of Health in Calhoun County confirmed an additional case of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus. The person ill with the virus is a 20-year-old male who is contact of a confirmed case. This brings Calhoun County’s total COVID-19 cases to 4. The age ranges for the cases in the county are from 20 to 88 years-old and all are residents of Blountstown.

The Florida Department of Health in Calhoun County (DOH-Calhoun) is conducting its contact investigation and working on identifying and notifying individuals who will need to self-monitor for symptoms for a 14-day period. Contact investigations are a critical way for staff epidemiologists to track and prevent the spread of disease. A total of 43 tests have been processed for Calhoun County from private and public labs with 39 negative results.
