NSA – Panama City Implements HPCON Bravo
Panama City Beach, Florida – The following was sent out by base commander to NSA Panama City:
NSA PC Family and Friends,
The impact of COVID-19 in Florida and across the U.S. is fluid and rapidly changing and our leaders at the Department of Defense and the Navy are treating this pandemic seriously. Across the United States all military installations have been directed to implement Health Protection Condition Level “Bravo.”
HPCON Bravo fundamentally is risk mitigation of exposure and spreading infection. Simply put, it involves strict personal hygiene; keeping common areas clean; and minimize social gatherings
The following HPCON Bravo actions are in place:
– No touch ID card scan at main gate;
– Use of cashless methods of payment at galley;
– Single points of entry and prescreening procedures at NBHC Panama City and the VA clinic;
– Cancellation or postponement of tours, classes and other large public events; and
– Telework.
We are committed to taking care of our team and family members. We remain in communication with our partners at the Bay County Emergency Operations Center, the county department of health, and Bay County community leaders. We will continue to closely follow the guidance we’re receiving from DoD and the Navy.
At this point, no one from NSA Panama City or those around us have had a positive COVID-19 test. We’re also not aware of any positive tests within Bay County.
What to Expect
Please be advised that operating hours may change at some base facilities and possible closures at others as conditions warrant in the future. I will announce any changes, cancellations, or closures as early as possible through base-wide e-mails, tenant command leadership and our Facebook page when practical.
For those assigned to NSA Panama City, guidance on leave, TDY, and PCS Stop Movement may be found at https://navylive.dodlive.mil/ under the COVID-19 Updates tab or at https://www.cnic.navy.mil/regions/cnrse/om/covid19.html . If you have specific issues or questions about the guidance, please work directly with your chain of command.
Business at NSA PC will continue and tenants should follow guidance from their higher headquarters as we all adjust to a new normal and do what’s right for our Sailors, civilian employees and their families.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, knowing the safety and well-being of our Panama City Team remains our top priority.
CDR Kevin Christenson
Commanding Officer
