All Bay County Commissioners to Travel to U.S. Capitol
Panama City, Florida – All five members of the Bay County Board of County Commissioners will travel to Washington, D.C. Tuesday for several scheduled meetings this week with members of Congress and various federal agencies.
“Now, more than ever, it is critical that we get to the people who can assist with the long-term recovery of Bay County,” Bay County Commission Chairman Philip “Griff” Griffitts said. “We are well beyond 200 days past this event, and it is unconscionable that Congress remains in a stalemate over funding for our area. We want to go up there and communicate to them how much the people of Bay County need their help.”
On the itinerary: Meetings with Rep. Neal Dunn, R-Panama City; Sen. Rick Scott, R-Florida; Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida; Gov. Ron DeSantis’ staff; Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. James Inhofe, R-Oklahoma; and meetings with the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Economic Development Administration, Housing and Urban Development, and the U.S. Census Bureau.
