NPR’s Late Frank Deford reading Casey At The Bat
Frank Deford was a sports writer for NPR for 31 years. Sadly he passed away on Sunday, May 29. In his long tenure at NPR, Frank had recorded 1,656 commentaries. He was a mainstay on NPR’s Morning Edition, and was a Hall of Fame sportswriter. He died Sunday at his home in Key West, Florida. In 2013 Frank was presented the National Humanities Medal by President Obama. Frank Deford was the first sportswriter to win that honor.
